Meet: SubSection 4A Central Meet
Date: Thursday, May 21st
Place: Brooklyn Center HS track
Teams: Blake, Breck, Brooklyn Center, DeLaSalle, Holy Family Catholic and Trinity School at River Ridge.
Time: Coaches Meeting at 1:30pm - Also Weigh-in for Shot Put & Discus, Field Events start at 2:00pm and Running Events start at 3:30pm.

General Information
The 2009 Sub-Section 4A meet will be held on Thursday, May 21st at Brooklyn Center HighSchool. Field events will begin at 2:00 p.m. and running will begin at 3:30 p.m. If you have anyquestions, contact Scott Rykken at Brooklyn Center High School (voice mail) 763-561-2120 x2702 or by e-mail at

Entry Information:
1. We are utilizing Prime Time Timing to time and score the meet. You may begin enteringyour athletes into events on May 13 and you must complete meet registration by noon on May 19th. There will be no exceptions to this deadline. 2. All entries will be done online at
www.pttiming.com. Access the meet under “UpcomingEvents” and “MSHSL Sub-Section Meet” at Brooklyn Center High School, May 21.3. Each school will need to create a New Account if you have not done entries at pttimingpreviously. (If you have an account, you may use your previous access information.) 4. Log in and follow instructions. First, you will need to enter all athletes and then enter athleteevents and seed times. After entries are complete, you can run a summary to ensure accuracy ofentries. 5. Because all running events are TIMED FINALS ONLY, please be careful entering seed times.Use FAT times or please add 0.24 to hand-held times (example: 12.2 hand-held = 12.44 FAT)

Entries: Each school is limited to three entries in all individual events and one relay team.
Section Qualifiers: Each sub-section may advance six contestants in all individual events andthree teams in each relay event to the Section 4A Championship Meet. In the event of a tie, theindividual contestant or relay team entitled to advance to the Section meet will be determined bythe 2009 National Federation Track and Field Rule Book.


Scoring: Individual 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 Relays 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1

Running Events: All runners/relays must report to the clerk of course at the first call for thatevent. The clerk will be located on the northwest corner of the track. Field event athletes will check in at their event area.
Field Events: The shot and discus must be weighed and measured in the storage shed at the north end of the bleachers before the competition begins. Each athlete will receive three attempts in preliminaries. Nine contestants will advance to finals and receive three additional attempts. Boys shot and girls discus will begin at 2:00 p.m. Upon completion of the finals ineach event, the boys discus and the girls shot events will begin. Boys and girls long jumppreliminaries will begin at 2:00 p.m. cafeteria style and will follow the time schedule as listed. The girls will high jump first and the boys will pole vault first.

-Boys high jump will begin at 5’0” and advance heights in 2” height increments.
-Girls high jump will begin at 4’0” and advance in 2” height increments.
-Boys pole vault will begin at 8’0”, advance to 9’0”, followed by 6” height increments.
-Girls pole vault will begin at 6’0”, advance to 7’0”, followed by 6” height increments.

Workers: Each team will be running one field event. Each team will provide a MINIMUM ofone responsible, knowledgeable adult, as well as other workers as needed to run their eventsuccessfully and in a timely fashion. Meet workers will find their clipboards and measuringimplements at the north end of the bleachers. Please have them report at 1:30 to receive finalinstructions.

Brooklyn Center = Shot Put
Blake = Pole Vault
Breck = High Jump
Holy Family = Long Jump
DeLaSalle = Triple Jump
Trinity = Discus

Scratches: Scratches will only be allowed for injury or illness. If an athlete is scratched, he/she must be scratched from all further participation in the meet. No substitutions will be allowed, with the exception of relays.

Locker Rooms: Locker rooms and the school will be inaccessible to athletes and spectators.
Team Areas: Please locate your teams outside of the track. No teams will be allowed to set up camp on the football field. Athletes must remove themselves outside of the track uponcompletion of their event. Coaches may be on the football field during the meet. Please help uskeep non-competitors off of the infield and away from the finish line.

Warm-Up Area: Please warm up outside of the track, if possible.
Bus Parking: Please park your buses to the south of the tennis courts.
Concession Stand: There will be a concession stand open during the meet.
Spikes: You may use up to 1/4” pyramid spikes!
Blocks and Batons: Starting blocks will be furnished. Each team must provide its own batonfor relay events.
Admission: Admission will be charged: $7.00 for adults and $5.00 for students
Rules: Uniform, jewelry, and competition limitations will be enforced.

All other exchanges will be covered by starter and Brooklyn Center at start/finish line.

Please note all times are approximate. As long as weather allows, we will remain on schedule. In case of inclement weather, we will move the meet forward as quickly as possible.

REMINDER: Athletes are NOT allowed on the infield during the meet. Athletes must exit the track immediately upon completion of their event. Coaches are allowed on the infield.
