Section 4A True Team Meet Information

Meet: Section 4A True Team Meet
Date: Tuesday, May 10th, 2016
Place: Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted High School (8700 County Rd 6 SW, Howard Lake, MN 55349) - from Trinity you will take 494 West for about 19 miles to MN Hwy 5 West, take the MN Hwy 5 West/Arboretum Blvd W exit west for about 10 miles, then follow MN Hwy 7 west for another 20 miles to Babcock Avenue and go north, Babcock Avenue will turn into County Rd 6 SW, take that road for 9 miles, through Winsted, to Howard Lake high school.
Time: Athletes will be dismissed from school at 11:45am, to be on the road by 12:00pm and at the track by 1:00pm.  Field events start at 1:45pm, running events start at 2:00pm.

Admission: $7 for Adults, $5 for Students

Parent Workers for Meet:
Girls Team - Maunu, Prokop
Boys Team - Baum, Brink

Parent workers will be working with Coach Kim Kelly-Sommer to run the pole vault for the girls at the start of the meet.  Be prepared to help her to put up the bar, measure and record athlete attempts at that event area.

Spike Rule:  1/4 pyramid spikes and smaller are allowed.

Scoring:  True Team scoring is unique in that each place is worth points to the team.
Boys and girls individuals: 36 (1st place)-35 (2nd place)-34 (3rd place)-etc...down to 1 (36th place)  Boys and girls relays: 54 (1st place)-51 (2nd place)-48 (3rd place)-etc...down to 3 (18th place)
The stronger and deeper team usually wins.

Discus - Girls first, Boys second (4 throws)
Pole Vault - Girls first, Boys second

Things could be very fluid depending on the way the meet goes.  Many athletes are prepared to compete in a variety of events, knowing that things might change as the meet unfolds.
